The Trial gives readers reasons why we have the Bill of Rights and Constitutional Rights. This novel doesn’t abide by the 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments used when a citizen is arrested and after being arrested. It all begins with the first sentence, â€Å"Someone must have traduced Joseph K., for without having done anything wrong he was arrested one fine morning† (Trial 3). These unidentified agents arrested him without a warrant, nor did they tell him why he was being arrested. That does not happen in the United States, because under the 4th amendment it states, â€Å"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized (United states constitution, amendment IV). This amendment was written so w e the people of the United States have rights when accused of breaking the law, and do not get taken advantage by higher people than us citizens. The whole first chapter is an example of how we the citizens in the United States do not get arrested without a purpose. The whole arrest seemed so unreal that joseph even states, â€Å"But that struck him as not being the right policy here, one could certainly regard the whole thing as a joke† (Trail 7).
